Naushki - the Russian border station

We were here two hours for border formalities.
The train was thoroughly searched twice - by customs and by immigration officials.
Two young Germans had out-of-date visas, were removed from the train and fined 2,000 roubles each.
There 'happened' to be a taxi driver who for $500 would take them the 250 km back to Ulan Ude the next day
and help them get new visas. They would then have to buy rail tickets to Irkutsk and air tickets to Beijing.
It was their own fault, they knew their visas had expired, and you do not take chances with visas when you're in Russia.
