| Ukrainian Heritage
The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Museum is an open air museum on Highway 16 near Elk Island NP. It presents the story of Ukrainian prairie settlers about one hundred years ago. There are plenty of staff around the site, all in role for the time playing the part of real people who lived in those very buildings. The history and background of each settler portrayed and every building reconstructed here has been thoroughly researched. We spent a fascinating day there, especially so so as Eleanor's Russian grandfather had come to Canada from a not too dissimilar culture at about that time.
