Broom Point

Broom Point in Gros Morne NP has been the site of a fishing station since 1808. It was occupied by the Mudge family from 1941 to 1975. Like many families in Newfoundland the Mudges practised transhumance in an age before the main road network was established and people relied on the sea for their livelihood and transport. The store and cabin have been restored to 1960s conditions and, with knowledgable guides, make a fascinating visit.
