Into Labrador

After our arrival in Newfoundland and before we went to the Northern Peninsula we took the ferry across to Labrador for a few days. There's about 100 miles of tarmac road which was all the hire car company would let us drive; the gravel road on to Goose Bay and beyond was not acceptable. However we had an excellent time with fair weather exploring this fascinating coastal strip of settlements which owe their origins to very early European temporary sites from 1500 on, mainly Basque and Channel Island whalers making vast sums from whale oil.
