| Labrador Coast
Some general pictures of places along the coast. The area has a very long history of European settlement. From about 1500 Breton fishermen came for cod followed by Basque whalers. From the 1600s seal and fur trappers dealt with merchants in Quebec. With the fall of New France in 1763 many British fishermen and merchants came, especially from Jersey, the West Country and Hampshire.
