Lake Titicaca

With its surface at an altitude of 3811m (12500ft) Lake Titicaca is the highest commercially navigable lake in the world and the second largest lake in South America. Although there is an outlet virtually all of the water loss from the lake is due to evaporation. We spent one night on the shores of the lake then took a hydrofoil to Isla del Sol for two nights before crossing to Peru to return home.
