Undiscovered Scotland is a very good site for all of Scotland. This index page for the Western Isles has clickable links to everything marked on it. This is a very goo starting point for browsing on any part of Scotland.

The Western Isles newspaper is the Stornoway Gazette.

The Caledonian MacBrayne site has informations for all ferries to and in the Western Isles.

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is the Western Isles Council with a site with good information including links to transport providers.

The Western Isles Tourist Board site is now called Visit Hebrides.

Archaeology
Archaeologists may be interested in the Scottish Islands section of Megalithic Walks, a site about sites throughout the UK (being a simple sort I quite like the Old Jokes page).

Also useful is the interactive map index of archaeological sites in the Western Isles (the site also covers all Scotland and further afield).
