Guadix Cathedral Museum
is an interesting small museum attached to the cathedral. It
contains a collection of C16th to C18th religious paintings
as well as statues.
There are historical documents including royal permits and papal appointments from the C16th to C20th.
There are beautifully embroidered bishops robes.
There are monstrances, chalices and crosses.
As well as host boxes and small shrines.
Perhaps the highlight of the collection are the two reliquaries of St Torcuato, made to house the relics of the saint given to the cathedral when it was built. The beautiful arm reliquary was designed with openings on the front and back. The smaller reliquary held part of his jaw.
