Tallinn City Walls

Tallinn was one of the best fortified towns in the Baltic. The first, wood, wall was built in the C13th but was soon replaced by a stone structure. Over the centuries this was further strengthened and added protection given by earthworks and water defences. Today about a mile of wall remains plus over 20 towers.
