Locronan was a major centre of the linen industry supplying sails to British, French and Spanish navies. Rapid decline in demand during the C19th saw the small town decay and little development. Buildings have now been restored. Although a very popular tourist centre there are strict controls on development and vehicle access. Unfortunately the weather was poor on the day of our visit.
