Greenland from the air
The
immense distances involved make air transport in Greenland an essential
part of the economy. The two main international airports are at
Kangerlussuaq in the west and Narsarsuaq in the south, with a smaller
one at Kulusuk in the east. Most of the larger settlements have
airstrips. Where this is not possible, or in the case of small
settlements, there are helicopter services. Internal air fares are
expensive, even by Greenlandic standards.
