Shantytown

Shantytown is a museum in the hills near Greymouth which recreates a typical New Zealand gold town. We had heard very mixed reports about it and left with mixed feelings. Whilst it has an interesting collection of buildings it fails to avoid anachronisms, for instance modern picnic tables and adverts for digital printing outside 150 year old buildings and some cheesy intepretations. However we tried ignore those and it was worth a look round.
