Menix is an extensive Roman site just to the north of the causeway to Jerba. There appears to be little known about the site other than that it was a wealthy town involved in the production of murex dye. There appears to be a small amount of excavation in progress but in general the site is untouched. (Various forms of spelling are used, such as Menninx and Menix, here we have stuck to that used in our map.)
