Sited on the Gulf of Bou Grara this extensive site is very little visited. Founded by the Phoenicians it became a busy Roman port exporting gold, ivory and slaves. Most remains date from C2nd AD. The town was sacked by Vandals, rebuilt in Byzantine times and its port destroyed during C7th Arab incursions.
